A HERO IN MY EYES REFLECTION

1. Answer the essential question how does a hero become a hero?
By being a remodel and having good morals.

2. Project Description: What was the Hero in My Eyes project? Use your own words to describe it.
We had to think back to a heroic moment and who was the hero in that moment then we had to interview that person. Next we had to create something called a character sketch and that is basically like a written picture where you write about a moment where your hero was being heroic using showing not telling.

3. Process: What steps did you take to get to the final product? (Be honest about meeting or not meeting deadlines and how that affected the process.)
First we had choose our hero and pick one moment where they were being heroic. Next we had to come up with 10 fat questions. Then we had to interview that person. Next we had to make a character sketch. Then we had to get two pictures of our hero one had to be a symbolic picture. Then we had to plug everything into a template. To be honest I didn't get my pictures in on time nor did I do my template on time. This hurt me because by not getting my pictures in on time my template was incomplete for a while.

4. Reflection: What did you learn? What challenges did you encounter? What would you do the same or different? How will this help you later?
I learned how to create someone character by telling about something they did to be the way the are. The challenges that I encountered were having to show not tell in my witting. What I would do differently is I would have put deeper thought into my character sketch because I didn't really show his emotion. It will help me later by helping m,y reader visualize my person.

5. Habits of Mind: Pick one of the six HOMs (Habits of Mind) and describe how you used it in this project. The six HOMs are: Innovation, Wonder, Ownership, Mindfulness, Perspective, and Evidence.
I used evidence because I gave different scenarios to where he was showing how I see him.

6. Artifact: Link to the blog post where you posted your final hero character sketch. Make sure it is a working link.

A HERO IN MY EYES

“He’s Like a Second Father to Me”

"Though I have never been helped in my times of need, I still feel compelled to help people in their trying times in life."

Are the words from my uncle my second father. He cares more for others than he cares for himself. He makes sure his loved ones are taken care of before him. He makes sure everyone’s safe, healthy, and secure before he is. When I needed to get new clothes and school supplies for school. He took me out and bought me every piece of clothing that I needed. Then he took me to Staples and went through almost every aisle getting everything that was on my list of supplies and he made sure I had extras. He took a whole day off just to do that for me whom he calls his "little princess". I always wondered to myself why would he do this? All he had for himself were three daily outfits and about five dress up and go out outfits. When I asked why he didn’t go shopping for himself he said, "As long as I’ve got you and your aunty there's no need to go out and get new things unless they were falling apart and I was dieing". When he said that my heart ached just a tad I didn't know if I was sad or thankful. All I could do was hug him and tell him that I loved him a whole lot. I couldn't understand why he was like that but it felt good knowing that I've had him my whole life. Every time he picks me up and my other little cousins, the first thing he asks us is if we ate yet. If we hadn't eaten he'd ask us what we'd like to eat and it was always up to me what the final decision was.

He always said "I don't mind where we eat it's all on you". I'd laugh because it was like he gave me full control at least that’s what I'd to think. This one time when I chose to go to some taco shop and they didn't take card he saw that he had only a little amount of cash and it would only buy about four meals and there was five of us kids he told us to order what we wanted and that he wasn't hungry.

"Uncle, are you sure? I'll share with you" I said.

"Its okay princess I'm not that hungry I'll just eat what you guys can't finish" he said with no hesitation.

I hurried up and ate half of my meal then said I was full and I couldn't eat anymore and I couldn't move. When inside it was a little itty bitty meal and I wasn't even close to being full. I handed it over to him and as I watched him eat it I felt good. I couldn't have someone I love starve and watch me eat after they bought me the very meal I was chowing down I had to do something. & I did it and it made my day.

ZERO

What strikes you about the articles?
It's just very intriguing to find out how one number started and how it changed as it traveled to other countries and how weird and very diverse the number zero became to look like it had very little to no similarities.

How do we decide who discovers what?
Well who ever has the first form of evidence showing they discovered it then that's who discovered it.

Who really discovered zero?
Well to be honest I don't really know who first discovered the number zero but in the article it says the Mesopotamia's did in 3 b.c.

Is it the person who came up with the concept of zero or the person who discovered the actual number? I think it's the person who actually came up with the number zero is the person who discovered it because they were the ones to finalize it.

And how did the entire world come to a consensus without an efficient means of communication? Because there are people who migrate to different places and from that they take on the concept of zero to where ever they go and where they are they adapt in the concept of zero and create their own zero.

Sensory detail:Sound

The baby crys and hollers desperately wanting to be heard. With it's tiny eyes closed shut it waits for something even just the slightest sound to come travel into it's ittyy bitty ears. The baby won't stop crying untill it knows it's been heard. The baby feels it's all alone and and feels no ones paying any attention. It feels stuck not being able to move it's legs dangling and arms by its face. The frustration of the child brings small drops over tears. Tears dripping to it's ears. Face becoming pink then darkening with little veins starting to sprout. Fist balled up nails digging deep it it's palms. A ring of whiteness where it's finger tips met with it's flesh. Eyes squinted so tightly creating little bags under them. It trys to reach out for help peacfuly but it can't. It takes another route to scream and begg as loud as it possibly can. Mouth opening with a tiny cry for help then closing then repeating untill it's all out of sounds. When it finds that no ones listening it curls up into a little ball and restest.

The Locker Problem

Numbers are left open is because, they are the numbers that have multiples of square roots or the amount of factors are odd. The pattern was that before every open locker there were two more closed lockers then the section before it. So for example there are ten lockers and locker one is open then tow and three are closed. Then locker 4 is open and five, six, seven, and eight are closed. This pattern goes on until the number of closed lockers add up to 961 and we are left with only 31 lockers open. Since we started off with 1,000 lockers both amounts of closed and open lockers should add up to 1,000.

Favorite Fictional Heroes.

My favorite super heroes are the Power Puff Girls because they're adorable little things. They also have a nice bond even though they are so very different. They keep it together to save the world. Plus I use to always watch their show way back then. My favorite one was Blossom because, she was like the leader of the pack she basically kept everything together. Also she was red! What special about the power puff girls is that they are just kids saving the world and it shows that even if your still a child if you cooperate with other kids you could get something done efficiently. It goes to show that kids are capable of changing lives to.
