Tecnology(Forensics)

1. A brief summary of the topic. What is it? What field of research does it fall under?
Forensic science is when physical evidence is collected to determined what happened with something, when did it happen, where did it happen, and who did it. This falls under Technology because in order to have Forensics or do forensics we need technology.

2. What's the big deal with this topic? Why should you care about its developments and any new discoveries that are made?
The big deal with this topic is that we need forensics in murders, robberies, or just any old mystery. Forensics gives us all the physical evidence from the scene. It gives people closer and helps us serve justice in knowing what happened even though someone wasn't there to witness the whole thing. We should care about all the discoveries made because as time goes on the technology in forensics get more advanced so that they could test more things and do more things to solve the unsolved and even go back to mysteries that are decades old.

3. What's going to happen to this topic in 2010?

People are going to make more discoveries and find more ways to test physical evidence a discovery forensic scientist have made so far is that there is a way you can identify someone with just their eyeball itself.

4. What obstacles or setbacks are in the way of this topic's success?
Sometimes a piece of evidence is too small or there is just not enough evidence at all top solve a case. Or sometimes witnesses have died and all the evidence have been long gone.

TT REFLECTION

Reflection

Project Description:The Time Travelers project is a project where you learn about an ancient civilization with a group of three other people and understand why that civilization no longer needs then come together as a group and decide whether they needed a boat, trebichet, or water system. Then send that tool back to the past.

Process:The project The Time Travelers is a project where in our groups we have to research a civilization. Each member in a group has their own pillar to reasearch either government, religion, art and technology, or architecture. After researching your specific pillar you come together with your group and share all your information. Next you write ab essay about your civilization. At the end of all this you and your group decide all together whether your civilization needs a trebuchet, boat, or a water system to have survived. After knowing what to send back t o your civilization you then will construct your tool and send it back to the past.

SEMESTER GOALS

1. I would like to take the time really try to write something nice in WEX and really get into it.

2.I would like to have mastered the paragraph format.

3.I would like to ask one question and raise my hand once a day.

PILLAR REFLECTION

Project Description:

- What was the assignment? Describe it here.
The Pillar assignment was to paint something based on your specific pillar from the Time Travelers project on your pillar section.

Process: - What steps did you take to get to the final product?
First I looked up what I wanted to paint. I sketched it out. Drafted it and revised it to the way I wanted. Got it approved by a teacher and started sketching it out on my pillar chose some paint colors and started painting.

Reflection: - What did you learn?
I learned about the different weaponry my civilization made and used.
- What challenges did you encounter?
One of the challenges I encounted would have to be painting the different weapons a different way with different colors and texture because they were basically all made from the same material.
- What would you do the same or different?
What I would do differently is putting in a little more character to my piece and not having it so plain and bland.
- How will this help you later?
This will make my piece popout more and hopefully be more jaw dropping and eye opening.

ESSAY REFLECTION

Project Description:

- What was the assignment? Describe it here.

The assignment for this particular part of the Time Traveler project was to set up and essay about your ancient civilization in general. In this essay we needed to include why our civilization was successful or not. It also needed to have where they were located , how long they lived for, what were they good for, and what kind of people they were.

Process:

- What steps did you take to get to the final product?

The first step was to research about your civilization . Next you were to specify on your pillar. Next put your essay together in a correct format. Then have peers edit it. Make the changes that were necessary. Have another peer member edit it. Make any final corrections before having it checked by the the teacher. Then go over the teachers notes and make adjustments. Next turn it in for your final grade.

Reflection:

- What did you learn?

I learned how to put together an essay format. I always learned how to put together a paragraph in a TEA format which is topic, evidence, and analysis. I also learned that the Ancient Kushite Kingdom were the first kingdom of Africa.

- What challenges did you encounter?

The hardest challenge that I encountered would have to be giving evidence. Another challenge was tying my paragraph together and creating a thesis. I just couldn't get the concept of staying on one subject.

- What would you do the same or different?

What I would do differently is looking over my final more so I know what I just about to turn in is all that I can produce.

- How will this help you later?

This will ensure me that it is my best work. & I have everything that is required and nothings left out.

A HERO IN MY EYES REFLECTION

1. Answer the essential question how does a hero become a hero?
By being a remodel and having good morals.

2. Project Description: What was the Hero in My Eyes project? Use your own words to describe it.
We had to think back to a heroic moment and who was the hero in that moment then we had to interview that person. Next we had to create something called a character sketch and that is basically like a written picture where you write about a moment where your hero was being heroic using showing not telling.

3. Process: What steps did you take to get to the final product? (Be honest about meeting or not meeting deadlines and how that affected the process.)
First we had choose our hero and pick one moment where they were being heroic. Next we had to come up with 10 fat questions. Then we had to interview that person. Next we had to make a character sketch. Then we had to get two pictures of our hero one had to be a symbolic picture. Then we had to plug everything into a template. To be honest I didn't get my pictures in on time nor did I do my template on time. This hurt me because by not getting my pictures in on time my template was incomplete for a while.

4. Reflection: What did you learn? What challenges did you encounter? What would you do the same or different? How will this help you later?
I learned how to create someone character by telling about something they did to be the way the are. The challenges that I encountered were having to show not tell in my witting. What I would do differently is I would have put deeper thought into my character sketch because I didn't really show his emotion. It will help me later by helping m,y reader visualize my person.

5. Habits of Mind: Pick one of the six HOMs (Habits of Mind) and describe how you used it in this project. The six HOMs are: Innovation, Wonder, Ownership, Mindfulness, Perspective, and Evidence.
I used evidence because I gave different scenarios to where he was showing how I see him.

6. Artifact: Link to the blog post where you posted your final hero character sketch. Make sure it is a working link.
