What strikes you about the articles?
It's just very intriguing to find out how one number started and how it changed as it traveled to other countries and how weird and very diverse the number zero became to look like it had very little to no similarities.
How do we decide who discovers what?
Well who ever has the first form of evidence showing they discovered it then that's who discovered it.
Who really discovered zero?
Well to be honest I don't really know who first discovered the number zero but in the article it says the Mesopotamia's did in 3 b.c.
Is it the person who came up with the concept of zero or the person who discovered the actual number? I think it's the person who actually came up with the number zero is the person who discovered it because they were the ones to finalize it.
And how did the entire world come to a consensus without an efficient means of communication? Because there are people who migrate to different places and from that they take on the concept of zero to where ever they go and where they are they adapt in the concept of zero and create their own zero.
